01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

LimTeh Kopitiam, nestled in the heart of Pasir Penambang, Kuala Selangor, is more than just a coffee store—it is a vibrant culinary haven that beautifully weaves traditional Chinese flavors with fresh, locally sourced seafood. This cozy establishment invites patrons with the comforting aroma of its signature Bah Kut Teh, a rich and herbal pork rib soup that perfectly warms the soul. But beyond this beloved classic, LimTeh Kopitiam truly shines with its outstanding seafood offerings.

Guests consistently rave about the unique black shark char hu, a fried fish dish elevated with the tangy zest of asam boi and a generous, aromatic touch of ginger that creates an unforgettable flavor profile—both familiar and inventive. Their steam lala, praised for its freshness and delicate seasoning, delivers a burst of oceanic sweetness that lingers delightfully on the palate. Meanwhile, the crispy mantis prawn and succulent steamed fish head further highlight the kitchen’s mastery of balancing textures and bold flavors.

The warm and inviting ambiance of LimTeh Kopitiam is enhanced by its spacious layout spanning two shoplots, with one air-conditioned section offering a comfortable refuge from the Malaysian heat. Whether you choose to enjoy your meal in the lively, bustling area or the cooler, relaxed air-conditioned space, the environment remains clean, friendly, and conducive to savoring every bite.

Beyond the main dishes, their dim sum selection, including impeccably soft and fluffy steamed buns filled with pork belly and char siu, marks another high point. The Lou Han drink, appreciated for its perfectly mellow sweetness, serves as a refreshing complement to the richly flavored dishes. While some might find the prawn mee a touch spicy, its broth is full-bodied and deeply satisfying, rewarding adventurous palates with layers of taste.

At LimTeh Kopitiam, waiting times may test your patience, but the anticipation only builds the excitement. The dedication to quality and taste shines through every dish, making each visit worthwhile. Affordably priced without compromising on flavor or freshness, this gem is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in authentic, mouthwatering Chinese and seafood cuisine in a welcoming setting.

For a flavorful journey that celebrates the best of Kuala Selangor’s culinary heritage, LimTeh Kopitiam is a destination worth savoring, promising a feast that delights all five senses and leaves you longing for your next visit.

Nice Chinese restaurant. Although their signature is the Bah Kut Teh, their seafood dishes are even better. We tried the black shark char hu, it tasted really unique and delicious. Their Char Hu (fried fish) is different from the one that we usually have in the north, on top of many gingers, it also added with the asam boi. The steam la-la was excellent, very fresh and tasty. The price is affordable compared to other seafood restaurants in the same area. Roadside parking is available outside of the restaurant.

Lou Han drink is nice. Not too strong Luo Han taste. Just nice. Food preparation took quite long. But it’s still worth the wait. Overall all the dishes we ordered were good.

Consist of two shoplots & 1 was air conditioned. Spacious and clean. There are good varieties of food and above average. My level of spiciness is very high but the prawn mee was a little too spicy to be enjoyable. Broth was tasty. Dim sum was not bad. Petai steamed bun was on the menu but not available on that day. The steamed bun skin was soft and fluffy. Pork belly and char siu buns were good. Fish ball was good. The best was the fried glass noodles. Not oily and very delicious. This stall had a wide menu of fried noodles and 1 dish rice set. Beverages were good too. Service was fast. On the way out, I bought the homemade traditional egg sponge cake. It was RM19 per box which was kind of pricey. Tasted soft but I prefer soft texture inside and crisp outside.
